[MOD][APK] AOSP 4.2 Themeable MMS for Deodexed TouchWiz ROMs

Sup All,
I'm not a dev, just a very big fan of AOSP messaging and wanted to share progress on getting it working on our VZW S4s.
I take no credit for the messaging app, only for minor tweaks and workarounds found to make it functional for us. I also take no responsibility if you don't follow exact directions and bork something. It is always recommended to do a nandroid backup to be on the safe side. The flashable zip I have attached below runs perfect and is personally tested on CleanRom, Eclipse, and HyperDrive. However, these same steps should work with any dedexed Touchwiz based ROM. This WILL work on odex but requires the workaround when sending MMS to view the photo before sending.

***WARNING, MAKE SURE YOU BACKUP SMS/MMS BEFORE FLASHING as this will wipe your current inbox!!!

There is a zip below with the FULLY THEMEABLE aosp MMS (font size and color, any color backgrounds, etc) with options for quick reply and has read, reply, and call in the dropdown panel. Also with working emoji and option for quick toggle for emoji in the compose box. Check out the screenshots below.

Directions:
1) MUST be rooted with a custom recovery.
2) Download the zip file attached below.
3) MAKE SURE YOU BACKUP MMS/SMS BEFORE FLASHING!!! The newest zip will delete your current inbox.
4) Flash the zip in custom recovery. I am using TWRP but any custom recovery should be fine A nandroid is always recommended to be on the safe side
5) After reboot, use a file explorer such as root explorer and navigate to system/app and rename KeyguardWidget.apk to KeyguardWidget.apk.bak. This keep the small keywidget clock being forced as the default.
6) PROFIT, you should now have fully functional AOSP 4.2 messaging with working group messaging and no workaround needed for MMS
Again, I'm not a developer but this was the way I was able to get the AOSP messaging experience on Touchwiz. I know there are many other fans of it out there so I wanted to share.

-Selecting your own contact pic within a conversation will also cause a forceclose. This has been a known issue since 4.1 with Aosp messaging and touchwiz. So in the meantime just try and remember who you are, what your number is, where you live, and what you look like without clicking your own pic

Always do the following AFTER installing the kernel:
1. Clear cache
2. Clear dalvik
3. Fix Permissions

If you get this message after booting up the kernel:
"The device has detected an application attempting ..."
Go to the "/system/app/" folder and delete the files that begin with "knox"

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

Instructions

First time flashing CyanogenMod 10.1 your device, or coming from another ROM?

1. Download the zip(s).
2. Install a compatible Recovery (see here)
3. Perform a NANDroid backup of your current ROM (Optional)
4. Wipe data & cache partitions of your device (required when coming from stock!).
5. Flash CyanogenMod.
6. Optional: Install the Google Apps addon package.

Fellow devs and users: XDA rule #12 states that “if you are developing something that is based on the work of another member, you MUST first seek their permission, and you must give credit to the member whose work you used.”

Since Synergy tends to be the most popular and widely-used ROM and frequently contains mods found nowhere else, we’ve had lots of issues in the past with our work/logic/scripts being kanged. Just because Android itself is open source, that does not mean that all the code written by us can be taken for free. For example, if we write a script that creates a new method during boot to control a process outside of the Android OS (like we did with our EFS backup for the S3, for instance), the code in that script is OUR intellectual property and cannot be taken without OUR permission.

Effective immediately, if you wish to use our work, you MUST PM either myself or TrevE and receive permission for EACH MOD you use, every time. No more burying our name in some ‘Thanks’ post with 50 other names and considering that free license to take everything we do in perpetuity. Failure to comply will result in moderators being contacted and the potential shutting down your thread, as set forth in the XDA rules.

Updated google music, talkback, google plus, google maps, chrome, superuser, permissions, updated google lib files, updater script to added the correct permissions for superuser, included ges4 light control app by elesbb but it will be pulled on next release for a permanent fix, updated kernel and ktweaker, updated carrier name lists to MAYBE fix the carrier branding issue(which hasn't been an issue for me before or now), update prop to read what GE version you are on to make it easier to ID version, and verified all google apps opening and working.

**NOTE: Every build I make I do with the latest KT kernel. The 7/15 kernel used in 4.7 seems to have some SOD problems. It isn't a problem as flashing a kernel is about the easiest thing you can do. But I also included a Stock Touchwiz Kerneled version I built today(7/19/13)**
***Purev3 did not have this issue because it is using an older KT kernel because it wasn't updated at the same time as 4.7***

Instructions:

Reboot to recovery
Backup your current ROM(if you want)
Factory Reset if you'd like(the updater script should wipe everything besides your internal and external sdcards)
Install you desired ROM
Wipe cache and dalvik
Reboot

Bugs:
**Signal bars do not show up when on LTE. LTE is active and working, you just don't see bars.
**don't mess with the network settings. If you do, use the phone info app or lte on off app and choose CDMA/lte auto prl.
